If someone doesn't need to make a decision, contribute expertise or leave with an action, they may not need to be there.
A 60-minute calendar slot tends to become a 60-minute meeting. Start shorter and extend only when necessary.
Waiting for late arrivals wastes everyone's time — especially when several people are in the room.
Respect the time booked. If the discussion needs to continue, decide what actually requires another conversation.
If a follow-up meeting is needed, invite only the people relevant to that specific discussion or decision.
If the meeting is mainly people taking turns giving updates, a written update may do the job better.
Don't spend the first 15 minutes getting everyone up to speed. When needed, share the relevant information beforehand.
A meeting booked for an hour doesn't have to last an hour.
The cheapest meeting isn't always the best meeting. The goal is to spend people's time where it actually adds value.
